Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan scored his first goal for Al Ain in the Etisalat Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The Sunderland loanee scored from the spot as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Emirates FC. This was his second game for the side who are gearing for the start of the Emirati league in fourteen days time. He opened the scoring 27 minutes into the second half after his side won a penalty.
Gyan was loaned to Al Ain to help them improve their tenth place finish in the 12 team UAE league last season. His deal is reported to be worth a $200,000 a week .
Al Ain next play in the Etisalat Cup next week, but Gyan would miss it because he would be on national duty as Ghana play Sudan and Nigeria on October 8 and 11 respectively.
He should be back when the UAE league starts and Ain play their first game with Al Nasr on 16 October.
