Ranieri given one match ban

Inter Milan boss Claudio Ranieri has received a one-match ban for criticisingreferee Gianluca Rocchi during his side's 3-0 loss to Napoli.

Italian football's governing body, Lega Serie A, announced Ranieri had been handed a one-match ban for insulting the referee at half-time on Saturday, while midfielder Joel Obi will serve a one-match suspension for his dismissal late in the first half.

Inter were also given an 8000 euro fine for the behaviour of their fans during the game, while captain Javier Zanetti was fined 1500 euros. And Diego Milito and Ivan Cordoba were handed 10,000 euro fines for disrespectful comments toward Rocchi after the final whistle.

"(Gianluca) Rocchi was not good enough tonight, as Obi's first yellow was non-existent and the second one was outside the box," Ranieri said after the match.

"He ruined a potentially fascinating match and also our first-half performance."
"Complaining is not my forte, and I have only done so a few times in the past in 20 years, but I have enough experience to know whether a referee is having a good or bad day."

"The boys did not deserve to be punished in this way. I was sent off because I complained too much, but we are men and it is normal to be frustrated when you are penalised by the referee."
