Uganda Cranes captain Andrew Mwesigwa is delighted that his side qualified for the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup semifinal with a 1-0 victory over Zimbabwe.
Mwesigwa who was solely missed when Cranes fell to Burundi 1-0 in the last group match due to suspension said the side had set its sights of qualifying to the final.
"We are definitely a good team and we are hoping to make it to the finals and take the trophy back home.”
"This time round we want to take the trophy home and I don’t see what can stop our quest come what may. Maybe if the referees do favour Tanzania as they did last year," Mwesigwa told Supersport.com.
Mwesigwa has had a chequered career since debuting for Uganda Cranes in 2003. He is one of the foreign based players in Bobby Williamson's squad having featured for SC Villa from 2002-2005 then moved to Icelandic side IBV between 2006 and 2009.
In 2010 he moved to China where he played for Chongqing for one season and in 2011 February he signed a two year deal at top Kazhan side FC Ordabasy.
