Tanzania felt at Nigeria

Nigeria’ Olympic team ended the hopes of their Tanzanian counterparts after beating them 3- 0 in their London2012 Olympic Games qualifier on Sunday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

The Nigerians eased into the final round of the qualifying series 3-1 on aggregate despite suffering a lone goal loss in the reverse fixture in Dar es Salaam a fortnight ago.

With injuries to key players blighting their preparations, the Dream Team V as the Nigerian team is fondly called shot into the lead after three minutes through in-form striker Ekigho Ehiosun.

On the quarter-hour mark, theVijana Stars were dealt a major blow as goalkeeper Seif Juma was pulled out for Jackson Wabdwi after sustaining an injury. The Nigerians raided the half of the visitors in their quest for more goals and on 57 minutes, Ganiu Oseni doubled the lead before Dutch-based forward Ahmed Musa sealed victory in the closing stages of the game.

Nigeria, winners in 1996 in Atlanta (USA) were silver medalists at the last championship held in 2008 in Beijing, China.
