The waiting is almost over as the new Barclays Premier League season prepares to get under way.
The excitement has been mounting for weeks as the 20 clubs get ready for one of the most eagerly-anticipated campaigns for many years. After a thrilling battle for the crown in 2010/11, the title race looks to be even more wide open this time round.
Champions Manchester United will face the usual strong competition from perennial challengers Chelsea and Arsenal but this season they will also have to fend off big-spending neighbours Manchester City.
Liverpool have also splashed the cash in a bid to maintain the momentum under new manager Kenny Dalglish and Tottenham Hotspur are determined to break back into the top four. In a hectic summer of transfer activity, newcomers Queens Park Rangers, Norwich City and Swansea City have all strengthened in a bid to secure survival.
And there are changes off the field too with Chelsea, Aston Villa and Fulham all under new management.
