Second-half goals from Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott booked Arsenal's place in the Champions League group stages as the Gunners rallied from behind for a 2-1 victory in northern Italy.
Arsene Wenger's early-season woes looked set to continue when Antonio Di Natale (39) -who had an early half-volley ruled out for offside before hitting the post from four yards - looped a header over Wojciech Szczesny to put the visitors ahead on the night and level the tie. But van Persie (55) kept his cool from six yards after good work from Gervinho before Walcott (69) combined with Bacary Sagna to race clear and seal a 3-1 aggregate win.
It was a fine response from Wenger's side, whose bright start had quickly fizzled out as Di Natale began to dictate. When Arsenal did break, Walcott then van Persie were denied by a superb double-save from Samir Handanovic and the hosts were ahead when Giampiero Pinzi's dinked cross was met by Di Natale and dropped in off the post.
But once van Persie had levelled, the tie turned on a stunning penalty save four minutes later from Szczesny on Di Natale -after a debatable Thomas Vermaelen handball - as Walcott seared through the deflated hosts and effectively ended the tie.
