Mariga to miss qualifiers

Kenyan midfielder McDonald Mariga will miss his nation's World Cup qualifiers against Seychelles due to injury.

The Inter Milan-owned Mariga -currently on loan to Real Sociedad - failed to confirm the nature of the injury, with the club confirming he picked it up in Sociedad's 4-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano.

"Mariga will not feature in the back to back tie against Seychelles. He picked an injury on Sunday and that will sideline him for 14 days. We wish him well," Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi said at a press conference.

The towering midfielder also confirmed that he was injured and is waiting for his doctor to access the extent of the injury.

"I will have to be accessed by the doctor so that I cannot risk aggravating the injury as a result," Mariga added.

Kenya play Seychelles away on Friday before the return home leg four days later.
